In Sing2Shine Acting, you'll hone your performance skills, overcome stage fright & express yourself freely in front of an audience. You will learn to use your acting skill to transport the viewer to new and exciting places!

GROUP CLASSES

Our classes are designed to be educational and immersive! Students will receive group & individual instruction to take their abilities to the next level!  All classes culminate in a showcase performance opportunity.

Theater Lights

Acting Fundamentals and Exploration

A 6-week in-person course where students will learn performance techniques for various styles and genres of theatre, including comedic and dramatic performance, monologues, scene work, and acting through song! Ends in a showcase where students choose what they would like to perform!

Tuition includes one free one-on-one acting lesson and 20% off any additional one-on-one lessons you book during the class!

Introduction to
Playwriting

A 6-week virtual course where students will learn the basics of writing a play! Instruction will focus on plot and character development as well as proper script formatting.  Students will each write a ten-minute play, and all plays will be performed as staged readings in a showcase at the end of the class!

Tuition includes weekly 1-on-1 consultations with the instructor and 20% off any 1-on-1 acting lessons you book during the class!

Musical Theatre Performance

A 6-week in-person course where students will learn how to shine as a performer in Musical Theatre! Classes will include voice, acting (especially in relation to performing a song), and basic MT dance choreography. Students will perform a Musical Revue at the end of the class highlighting their skills!

ACTING COACHING

Get focused, one-on-one coaching from a professional director and teacher!

About Carla


Carla Stickler is a singer, actor, and teacher best known for her performance as Elphaba on Broadway and in the touring production of Wicked. She has performed the role of Sophie Sheridan in the National Tour of Mamma Mia! and Liesl in the The Sound of Music: Asia Tour. She is a world traveler and has headlined as a Guest Entertainer onboard Norwegian Cruise Lines and Disney Cruise Lines. Carla holds her Masters Degree in Theatre Education in Colleges and Communities through New York University's Steinhardt School of Education. As an educator, she has traveled around the United States teaching masterclasses and maintains a private voice studio currently over Zoom. Carla has worked closely with The Educational Theatre Association and spent 5 summers attending the International Thespian Festival in Lincoln, NE as a teaching artist and guest performer. Carla holds a BFA from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and an MA from NYU’s Steinhardt School of Education. She is a proud member of AEA and NATS.




About the Workshop


Learn how to make your musical theatre performance shine with help from a real Broadway performer! Carla (who played Elphaba in Wicked along with many other roles) will be showing us how to use our voices not only to sing beautifully, but also to show our character's emotions and personalities. This is an essential masterclass for anyone who wants to improve their acting abilities in musical theatre! Throughout the masterclass, all attendants are encouraged to ask questions and post them in the chat. There will also be a Q&A session at the end of the masterclass. Come join us and learn how to Sell the Song! Price: $50 This masterclass will be held over Zoom.
